Brewed on September 1, 2006, the Exchange Cafe is the brainchild of Gene Smith. Gene had the vision and wisdom to foresee the need for a Cafe in an area with a diverse and highly-educated American-American. An area where people are migrating to – South Shore area. South Shore is a predominantly black working-class community near lake Michigan on Chicago's South Side.
Whether you want to enjoy a cappuccino with your morning paper, conduct a business meeting over lunch, or bring in your laptop and work in a comfortable environment, you're in for a wonderful experience!
The Exchange Cafe's menu includes a nice selection of pastries, confections, teas, hot, cold drinks, delicious soups and sandwiches. We only serve fair trade beans, which is considered one of the best in town. Exchange Cafe provides a specious, clean environment with ambient, upbeat music to soothe your mind. If you're a student or a business professional, we offer Free Wi-Fi access with any purchase. Laptop computers are available for rental, and you can also fax and copy documents.
